Children need their parent’s acceptance, as this is crucial for their survival. True adults do not require acceptance in order to survive, all they require is their own love.
A crucial aspect of ‘growing up’ is moving past the need for acceptance. When we acknowledge that we no longer need acceptance in order to make it, we become free to love ourselves exactly as we are. It is through exercising our capacity for self-love that we become a true adult.
When we become a true adult, we experience the ability to provide acceptance to all living creatures. It is through this acceptance that we become capable of creating a life of our choosing and loving without restraint.
